TAST library of stitches

I have been busy collating my TAST samples and putting a spine edging on each so that I can make a library of stitches. I decided to use an old lever arch ring binder of my daughters, it is A4 size but can be cut down to the size I want. I have made holes in each spine piece and buttonholed around them for reinforcement. Using this method of book rather than signatures I can add to it a further date and it also allows for easy removal when one is needed for reference. Above are a collection of pages at various stages of completion. To view all my samples go to my Flickr pages

The examples above and below shows how I have decorated the spine with the page stitch.

My base fabric colour scheme is very festive, it wasn't intended they just happened to be the colours that I had to hand when I first started the challenge earlier this year. I have, however used a range of colour schemes on the pages. Some are harmonious, some monochromatic and some constrasting to show different effects. Finishing off these pages is for winter nights in front of the TV.

All I have to do now is make a cover for the folder, the fun bit. Embellished I think.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.................

What a BEAUTIFUL way to handle these stitches! I'm so impressed that you actually kept up, not to mention this final organization.

It will be such fun to use those samples, won't it?

Happy New Year!

I love what you have done with your samples Margaret.
I have mine in 2 folders (it took that many)and I have included the instructions with each sample so I will know how to do the stitch when I need it.

Happy New Year Margaret. All the best for Jan 7 - I will be thinking of you.

I am so impressed with your stitch samples and the way you ahve dealt with them - very inspiring - I have just done Personal Library of Stitches with Sharon and need to do more stitches as well as try out the TAST ones I have never attempted. How to handle samplers has been a problem - but not now!

One thing wonderful about Sharon B's Take It Further Challenge is we all get to "meet" many more people, and I had already "bookmarked" these postings of yours -- what a great idea, and they also look fabulous! I have big hopes of also doing some of her back stitches ... we'll see!

What a great idea this is to bind your TAST in this fashion. You should be so proud to have completed the challenge and ended up with such a lovely stitch library. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the TIF challenge!
