More Needle Felting and Tyvek

This embroidery is a combination of needle felting, Tyvek and beads and entitled 'Metallic Fantasy'. It is mounted on a piece of silk. I used wool for the needle felting and the Tyvek was painted before being distressed with iron and heat gun. My husband says it looks like a drunken man staggering home and a friend can see a sorcerer! What can you see?

In this closeup the distressed tyvek is clearly visible in the foreground and the Christmas glitter fabric pulled until it looked interesting.

Love your blog and your art Margaret. I came via Doreen's at Creative Meanderings.
I've recently started a blog but not for textile reasons although that is a love of mine. I too have finished work and now have the time to do what I enjoy doing. I have a number of UFO's to finish before starting on new projects. I've been looking at various blogs and I'm amazed at all the wonderful art out there, all so lovely and inspiring.
I have moved to Sweden so I am cut off from my usual retail outlets which not only hold workshops but also are so helpful for someone interested in trying new things. I am considering signing up to the cloth scissors magazine and it's sister publication so I can learn about all the techniques that I see when touring the web.
I look forward to calling in again to your blog now that I've found it.
