January TIF challenge finished

This is my finished piece for the TIF (Take it Further Challenge). It is based on the microscopic image of a gall bladder which is a tribute to my missing organ!!!!! I am feeling so much better healthwise. It is postcard size and worked on felt, the couching around the cream shape is done over machine whipped cords. To see all the finished pieces go to the TIF flickr site .
or blog .
These photos show detail of the corners.

I bet the original wasn't as pretty as this! Glad you are feeling so much better. Nice work.

Glad to know you are feeling better - bet this little bit of art therapy was just what the doctor ordered! Great details and composition.

I really do like this piece, and the whole way you have applied the concept to it. The big cream shape with the seed stitches, and those glorious grey intestines ( ? LOL) - they look terrific, and then to know what they represent really makes me admire your creativity.

If I had known my gall bladder looked as beautiful as this I may have kept it-(not really).
Seriously Margaret this is a wonderful piece and well thought out.

Absolutely beautiful Margaret. Love the fact that we can work our lives into our work. Who'da thunk it that the gall bladder can look so good!
